Dalia Kafi had been arrested and charge with breaking a court-ordered curfew. She was at the CPS arrest processing unit when she was taken to the ground in what one 30-year officer says was the “worst use of force” he’d ever seen. Kafi suffered a broken nose and needed stitches to her lips.
The officer Const. Alex Dunn is on trial on a charge of assault causing bodily harm stemming from this arrest in 2017. Dunn was suspended with pay for a year after he was charged. However, since then, he was reinstated in an administrative role with the department.
